Mary Ann Taheny, was born and raised in San Francisco, CA and is the youngest of nine children with a substantial extended family.

When she was just a child, Mary Ann had the uncanny ability to accurately imitate any new dialect or character’s voice she heard. Her vocal flexibility and good ear enabled her to grow her repertoire to 15 dialects, thereby helping her to land numerous roles on stage and film. Mary Ann is constantly building her dialect repertoire. She has carved a niche for herself by being able to play almost any nationality or character that she is given.

She began performing competitively at the age of 6 in monologue competitions. At the age of 12 she had her first starring role in an independent film. She took dance classes in folk, ball room, modern, jazz, ballet and Afro-Haitian dance. At the age of 17 she began taking private voice lessons.

At 18, Mary Ann enrolled as a Vocal Performance Major at San Francisco State University. She performed as a concert soloist in the San Francisco Bay Area, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

Mary Ann moved to Hawaii in 1991 and took a hiatus from the performing arts for the first time in her life.

In 2005 she returned to acting and enrolled in numerous on-camera and commercial classes. Within 2 months of her return, she was granted an audition for the hit T.V. series, “Lost” on ABC and landed a co-starring role in the First Season Finale (Exodus 2 & 3). Mary Ann played an Australian Gate Attendant named Jenna in two scenes with Terry O’Quinn (John Locke) and Jorge Garcia (Hurley). Once again, her repertoire of dialects paid off.

Subsequent to that, Mary Ann landed numerous roles in Hawaii in local commercials, independent films and Industrial training videos. She began studying with Scott Rogers at the Academy of Film and Television in Honolulu, HI in 2007.

In September 2008, Mary Ann landed a second Co-Starring role on “Lost” in the season 5 episode, (Jughead) playing a British Archivist named, Moira, in a scene with Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond Hume). Since then, Mary Ann has moved back to California.
